Torgiano is one of Umbria’s wine towns with the surrounding countryside carpeted with vineyards. The town itself has only two main streets, Corso Emmanuele and Via Garibaldi and once was a small river port. Inhabited since the Roman era, it was rebuilt during the Middle Ages and later played a part in history as being one of the towns responsible in protecting Perugia as it sits just 15 km south.
